Christmas In July

I know. I know. It’s only July. But it seems this year is going by so quickly and it has me dreaming of a farmhouse Christmas. I dream of Christmas all year-long. I think I get more excited than my children, when we pull out all of the decorations. I hope you all enjoyed reading Jen’s Noting Grace Christmas in July Blog Hop blog post. Thank you to King of Christmas for sponsoring this post.

I was so excited and jumped at the chance to be a part of this Christmas in July blog hop, with an amazing group on very talented bloggers. This is a great opportunity to share with you my thoughts on what I think will be trending for the 2018 Christmas season. My predictions are full of neutral and wooden tones to give your home the perfect rustic details for this season. I love the warmth that wood and neutral colors add to any home. I try to pay attention to the little details when decorating for the holidays. Christmas inspires me to add decor that will compliment my farmhouse style and give off a feeling of love and joy.

Last year I decided to trade in my reds for a simpler neutral palette. I decided to go with a white Christmas with wood and gold accents. I think gold adds a sense of elegance to the holidays. This was my first year to have a King of Christmas Prince Flocked Tree. I instantly fell in love with it as soon as I took it out of the box. There is something charming about a flocked tree, so easy to decorate and they add a sense of beauty to any room. King of Christmas in based right here in the USA and has some of the most amazing and affordable trees, wreaths, and garlands around!

So let’s rewind to last year when one of our dear friends asked us to make some vintage inspired ornaments, and this led me to all the inspiration I needed to decorate our own tree. We found some Vintage Yarn Spools and then took to the workshop to create one-of-a-kind wood ornaments.

Our Instagram friend Aly wanted vintage inspired spindles and balusters to decorate her tree and pieces that could be used all year-long in baskets, crates, or tiered trays. I truly believe ornaments are the best part of Christmas. They tell a story and hold memories or seasons past. I think handmade

I often can envision what I want in my head but finding the perfect item isn’t always the easiest thing to do. This tree skirt is something I searched for and when I couldn’t find it online,  I found a maker to bring my vision to reality. I have a feeling we will see a lot more handmade decor this season. We have so many amazing makers emerging out of Instagram with some amazing handmade decor.

Here are some of my favorite items for the upcoming season.
